Our ambition
A better future in sight: we will improve eye health and the lives of people
affected by sight loss and eye disease by funding world-leading innovation in
research, education, treatment and care.
Over the next five years, we will invest £50 million to achieve five goals:
• Advance understanding to generate new
biological insights that will open pathways to earlier
and more effective interventions.
• Accelerate the translation of research
to patient impact.
• Strengthen the research and innovation
workforce by enabling diverse talent to thrive and
progress at every career stage.
• Expand collaboration to increase research
power, share data, and drive breakthroughs across
eye health research and beyond.
• Amplify impact through partnerships that
unlock greater investment, shared expertise, and
system-wide innovation.
