How grant
decisions are made
It is vital that we fund the people,
projects and ideas that represent the
very best of UK science, research and
innovation. Our grant decision making
is supported by a robust and rigorous
expert review process through our
scientific advisory panel. All funding
decisions are made via our grants
committee or our board, depending on
the value of the grant.
As a member of the Association of Medical
Research Charities, we review all grant
applications in line with their principles,
and we endorse their position statements
on the use of animals in research and
the importance of patient involvement in
medical research.
As a charity, everything that we do,
including our grants activity, will
also comply with charity law and the
requirements of the Charity Commission,
our main regulator.
